The agreement was reached during a meeting yesterday of Indus Water Commissioners in Islamabad, Radio Pakistan reported. The commissioners also agreed to revist India’s plans for the Lower Kalnai and Pakal Dul projects on the Chenab.
Pakistan has claimed that the three projects proposed by India violate the 1960 Indus Water Treaty, and expressed concerns that they could disrupt water flow in the country.
In April, the two countries will also discuss plans for the Kishanganga and Ratle hydropower projects, with the World Bank to act as adjudicator.
