India’s Patel Engineering, in a consortium with L&T, is to develop the 520MW Parbati hydroelectric project stage III on behalf of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation.

The contract for the project, which is located on the river Sainj in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, includes river diversion, rockfill dam intake, desilting chambers, a 5.8km headrace tunnel and other associated works.

Stage III should be implemented in 56 months at an estimated cost of US$9.2M.
