Empresas Públicas de Medellín has granted IMPSA a contract to manufacture turbines and related equipment for the Porce III hydroelectric power plant, currently under construction in Antioquia, Colombia.
IMPSA will supply the 688MW power plant’s four Francis turbines, with a staggered start up scheduled for between September 2010 and the start of 2011.
The US$37M contract comprises: design, manufacturing, testing, packing, shipment, transportation, supply, assembling supervision, site tests and start up, and training on the handling of the required equipment.
