The two wind farms will be located near Bahia Blanca city in the Province of Buenos Aires.

The order was placed by Pampa Energía and includes supply and installation of 28 V136-3.45 MW turbines delivered in 3.8 MW Power Optimised Mode for Pampa and De La Bahía wind park that both have a total capacity of 53 MW.

The order also includes 20-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Vestas Argentina sales director Andrés Gismondi said: “Last year, Vestas signed contracts for almost 600 MW in Argentina and with this new order, we have close to 1 GW of wind capacity either installed or under construction in the country.

“Our strong order intake and the recent announcement of our assembly facility in Argentina emphasise our commitment and support to the country’s ambitious renewable energy targets.”

Delivery of the turbines is expected to take place in the last quarter of this year and commissioning could take place in the first quarter of next year.

These orders follow the establishment of an assembly factory and the receipt of 600MW orders in the country last year.

Recently, Vestas has agreed to acquire 40% stake in the 353MW Blakliden/Fäbodberget wind farm in Sweden from Vattenfall and Danish pension fund, PKA.

For the project, Vestas has also agreed to supply its V136-4.2MW turbines.

The two wind farms Blakliden and Fäbodberget will be located in Åsele and Lycksele Municipality, respectively in central Sweden.

Vestas’ order includes supply and installation of the wind turbines as well as a 25-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service contract.

The company expects to deliver the turbines to begin in first half of 2021 with full commissioning planned for fourth quarter of 2021.
