Sapura Energy has won contracts worth RM760m ($184.65m) to provide drilling services across Angola, Africa and in Malaysia.

Sapura Energy has secured a contract from Chevron’s subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil to provide drilling works in the Angolan waters for two years. Sapura Drilling has been awarded this contract to provide its semi-submersible tender assisted drilling rig, Sapura Jaya.
The project will see the usage of a first of its kind technical solution to improve efficiency for the drilling campaign.
Sapura Drilling has also secured an extension of its contract with Sarawak Shell Berhad and Sabah Shell Petroleum. Under the extended contract, Sapura will provide Sapura Esperanza, a semi-submersible tender assisted drilling rig. The contract includes drilling three wells offshore Sarawak, Malaysia.
Additionally, Sapura Drilling has also secured an extension contract from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd to provide semi-tender assisted drilling rig, Sapura Berani. This contract includes drilling of two wells at the Sumandak facility, offshore Sabah, Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Sapura Fabrication has secured a contract from PETRONAS Floating LNG 1 to undertake engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) works for relocation and tie-in of the PFLNG Satu (PETRONAS Floating Liquefied Natural Gas), currently located in the Kumang Cluster, offshore Sarawak.
Besides, Hess Exploration and Production Malaysia has selected Sapura Fabrication to conduct additional scope for offshore transportation and installation works under an existing contract of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning plus installation (EPCC+I) for their facilities in the north Malay Basin.
The Malaysian oil and gas services company stated that these contracts have increased the value of its total contracts to RM9.3bn in the current financial year.
In early December, the company and its consortium partners Sapura Fabrication and Afcons Infrastructure, secured a contract valued at RM3bn ($729m) from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in India.
Sapura and its consortium partners will jointly undertake engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) works for a Central Processing Platform (CPP) and Living Quarters for KG-DWN 98/2 NELP block.
This block is located offshore of the Godavari Delta on the east coast of India, covering an area of about 7,295km of the Krishna-Godavari basin with water depth ranging between 300m to 3,200m.
