A full service balance-of-plant specialist, Zenviron will provide the civil and electric balance for the northern New South Wales (NSW) located Sapphire Wind Farm.
Vestas will handle the supply and installation work of the wind turbines for the project.
Initial design works on the NSW wind farm began in July with the completion of the project likely to happen in the latter half of 2018. The wind farm project is built with an investment of $588m.
Zenviron director Nick Perrott said: “This award is a significant strategic milestone for Zenviron, positioning us as a leader in renewable energy projects across Australia and New Zealand.
“The extensive technical and design experience of our team, along with our multidisciplinary engineering and construction capability, makes us well-placed to deliver this landmark project.”
The wind farm is situated in the New England personal Tablelands, 18 km west of Glen Innes and 28km west of Inverell.
Upon its completion, the Sapphire Wind Farm is said to become the largest capacity wind farm in the state, featuring the tallest machines in Australia at a hub height of 137m.
The NSW wind farm is claimed to deliver clean energy to about 110,000 houses while cutting down carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 600,000 tonnes per annum.
In March, the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government sigend a power purchase agreement for the supply of nearly 100MW of the power generated at the facility.
The Sapphire Wind Farm project is likely to create 200 jobs besides pumping a minimum of $10m into the local economy during its construction.
