The ZESS energy system provides an integrated, scalable, modular, storage system, the company said. The energy storage systems will be used as part of a new elevator system that utilizes power from the grid and renewable energy in ‘Pualani Manor’, a mid rise, multi-family apartment located near downtown Honolulu.
This system will manage the energy usage from a 20kW PV array and allow the elevator to be operated during emergency situations and extended power outages. The scalability of the ZESS system enables future input and storage from other renewable energy sources, the company added.
