Yingli Green Energy Holding Company, a solar energy company and a vertically integrated PV manufacturer, plans to begin its new 700MW capacity expansion projects at Baoding headquarters and in Hainan province.

The company, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Yingli Energy (China), intends building 600MW of PANDA mono-crystalline silicon-based manufacturing lines in each of mono-crystalline ingots and wafers, cells and modules at its Baoding headquarters.

In addition, the project expansion includes creation of 100MW of multi-crystalline silicon-based manufacturing lines in Haikou, Hainan Province through Yingli China, taking the company’s total production capacity to 1.7gW.

Yingli Green Energy chairman and CEO Liansheng Miao said that the launching of these new expansion projects, expected to start initial production from the middle of 2011, marks another key milestone in the rapid growth of Yingli Green Energy.

“The demand for our ‘Yingli Solar’ modules continues to grow rapidly in the global market and we are pleased to further expand our capacity to meet the growing market demand and the increasing interest in our ‘Yingli Solar’ modules,” Miao said.
