The 1MW project, which is situated in the Kladovo municipality, 250km east of Belgrade, is the largest ground-mounted solar PV installation in Serbia funded by a domestic investor, according to Yingli Green.

Yingli Green’s crucial partners in the project include Solaris Energy, which is the investor and Enertec, the project developer, as well as the company’s local representative Energize.

Yingli Green Energy CEO Liansheng Miao said that Serbia plans to move forward with making solar PV a pillar of the country’s energy mix.

"Driven by technology and continuous improvements in efficiency, we anticipate seeing more clean and green energy produced in this region," Miao added.

Solaris Energy managing director Milos Kostic said, "Yingli was the obvious manufacturer of choice for us, given their reputed PV brand and track record of success, especially in large-scale PV installations."
