Scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2015, the project will generate approximately 28 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually in order to meet nearly 30% of Shule County’s residential power demand.

The project will also reduce approximately 17,000t of carbon emissions each year, which is equivalent to planting over 21 million trees.

Yingli Green Energy chairman and chief executive officer Liansheng Miao said: "It is an honor to bring solar power to Shule County for the very first time, and we applaud the local government’s efforts to encourage renewable energy project development.

"We aim to expand our operations and accelerate the growth of the clean energy economy throughout Xinjiang Province, where we have already developed over 100 MW of solar projects."

Yingli Green Energy manufactures the photovoltaic value chain from ingot casting and wafering through solar cell production and solar panel assembly.
