As eligibility is considered on the basis of population, Riverton is qualified for $50,000. Wind River reservation’s two tribes are also qualified, the Eastern Shoshone Tribe for $106,100 and the Northern Arapaho Tribe for $182,900. By June 25, 2009, applications are due.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 offered the DOE $3.5 billion for the grant program which presents formula grants to US territories, local governments, states and Indian tribes for attempts to curb fossil fuel emissions, decrease energy consumption and increase energy efficiency in the transportation and building sectors.
