Prior to being appointed PSC chair, Ebert served as executive assistant to PSC Chair Bernie Bridge. He also served as transition personnel director for Governor Doyle when the Governor was first elected in 2002. During his 14-year career in Washington, D.C., Ebert worked in both the US Senate and the US House of Representatives. During his final two years in Washington, Ebert was Legislative Director for Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee member Maria Cantwell (D-Washington), serving as a senior policy advisor and managing a 15-person legislative office. Dan also served as the executive director for the nation’s first Internet-focused trade association, Net Coalition.com, and as the country director for the National Democratic Institute in Kiev, Ukraine.

A Wisconsin native, Ebert grew up in Watertown and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Political Science and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
