The developers/contractors have completed work on access roads and foundation pits so far in line with the construction schedule.

The projects will be equipped with seven Senvion MM92 (formerly Repower MM92) turbines with installation expected in summer 2014, commissioning scheduled for this fall.

wpd Canada activities head Arvid Hesse, "All wpd staff and subcontractors involved are well prepared to face the current extreme weather conditions and are eager to commission the projects on schedule."

wpd board member Hartmut Brosamle said, "The implementation of our first projects in Canada is a great success story for the local staff and also a significant milestone for the entire wpd group. Active in Canada since 2007, we are now harvesting the fruits of diligent work in a challenging market."

wpd’s Mississauga team is also working on another four projects totaling over 90MW including the 60MW White Pines project, all of which were awarded a FIT contract by the Ontario Power Authority and are likely to become operational within the next couple of years.
