Australian professional services group WorleyParsons has been awarded a contract by Romanian energy firm Petrom for the front-end engineering and design associated with the modernization and expansion of the Petrobrazi refinery in Ploesti, Romania.

WorleyParsons’s expected revenue over the course of the project is estimated to exceed A$40 million. The project is part of Petrom’s Vision 2010 refinery modernization and development program.

The overall Vision 2010 program is valued at approximately E1 billion. The project will be executed from WorleyParsons’s offices in London, Ploiesti and Edmonton, Canada.

This multi-office execution approach follows WorleyParsons workshare principles that enable it to bring together its worldwide resources and expertise to serve its clients throughout the globe.

The overall management of the work will be from London with front-end engineering and design (FEED) packages being prepared in both London and Edmonton, while field support services will be provided from Ploesti. The main execution offices will also be provided with drafting support from WorleyParsons’s Beijing center.
