Work has started on the construction of the Dac Pone hydroelectric power plant in Mang Canh and Dac Long communes in the Central Vietnamese Highlands province of Kon Tum, according to the Vietnamese News Agency.

The plant, which will be built on the Dac Pone river, will have two generating units of a total installed capacity of 14MW, generating 62.9MkWh of electricity each year.

It is scheduled to start operation in the second quarter of 2007.
