The 35/9-8 well will be drilled 8km northeast of discovery 35/12-2 (Grosbeak) and 14km southwest of the Gjøa field at the Transocean Arctic drilling facility.
The process will follow the completion of wildcat well drilling process in the production license.
The company holds 35% ownership interest and the remaining interest in the license is owned by Agora (20%), Bayerngas (20%), Edison (15%) and RWE Dea (10%).
The drilling program is scheduled to commence following the receipt of all the relevant approvals and permits.
The current drilling is the second process under the production license 418 which was awarded in February 2007 to Wintershall.
