Building designed to incorporate wind turbines

Architects RMJM have unveiled plans for an 85m high twin tower residential development which would incorporate close to 50 wind turbines. The design, for the Scottish city of Edinburgh’s waterfront, would use turbines suspended between the two towers. The turbines would generate sufficient power for residents and would export any excess to the grid.

Waterfront Edinburgh, which owns the site – currently the William Waugh scrap yard in the Granton district – reportedly approached RMJM to design the scheme.
