The fabrication services will be provided for the existing reactor, as well as for two new AP1000 nuclear power units currently in the early stages of construction.

The contract, which is valued in excess of $400m, runs through 2033, with the first delivery scheduled for 2012.

The deal is consistent with SCE&G’s contract with Westinghouse and Shaw Group to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the two new AP1000 units of the plant.

The new units will be owned by SCE&G and the South Carolina Public Service Authority.

SCE&G is engaged in the generation, distribution and sale of electricity in South Carolina, and the company also provides natural gas service to about 309,000 customers throughout the state.
