This study could lead to joint ownership by the two companies of the coal-fired plant and the addition of emission controls.
The companies will work over the next several months to determine the practicality of retrofitting the facility’s units to meet expected environmental regulations.
The power plant includes five units, each with a generating capacity of approximately 85MW.
