An agreement signed by the UK and the Philippines on 13 January 2003 may bring wave power development to the southeast Asian country.
The agreement pledges the two countries to pool their resources in developing renewable energy technologies, including wave power. The UK has been investing heavily in wave power research, feeling that it lost an early lead in the wind power industry.
The two countries will also join forces to develop clean fossil technologies and power sector management techniques.
