Ethiopian power customers must expect blackouts for two days of every week until the new rainy season, the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCO) has announced.

Water levels in the country’s hydroelectric storage have been low since last year’s rainy season, and there have been blackouts one day a week for some time.

Now, a new study by the Ministry of Water Resources and the Meterological Services Agency has shown that more drastic action is required to conserve water resources, reports the Ethiopian News Agency.
