Entrants from around the world have been invited to take part in a competition to design a logo to jointly symbolise the World Water Council and the third World Water Forum.

The World Water Forum is a global meeting every three years of governments, international organisations such as UN agencies and donor organisations, scientists, water experts and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to deal with growing worldwide water issues. The third forum will be held in Kyoto, Japan from March 16-23, 2003.

For logo designs to be admitted to the competition, they must incorporate, either separately or combined, the logotypes of both the World Water Council and the third World Water Forum. The design should also be rendered in four colours, although it should also be suitable for rendition in a monochrome version. The design submission must also be accompanied by a short written description of the design concept (up to 60 words in English).
