Construction on the proposed solar power plant is expected to commence in October 2013 by Community Wind Power. The plant will be completed by the end of November 2014.
The 15MW solar plant will be located on a plot that is spread over an area of about 25 hectares in Atsuma, a town near the port of Tomakomai.
The electricity generated at the plant is expected to cater to the grid in the region, under Japan’s feed-in tariff system (FIT).
Community Wind Power develops wind projects and provides operation and maintenance services.
