The World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) has appointed Ken Ellis, current Executive Vice President Strategic Support and former Chief Nuclear Officer of Bruce Power, as its new Managing Director.
Ellis will formally replace George Felgate on 1 April 2013. Felgate has held the post of WANO managing director since August 2009.
Ellis, who was appointed to the new role at a WANO board meeting in London January 29, commented: "There is a lot of work to do and in particular I see the further development and execution of the new Long Term Plan and the post-Fukushima project work as important priorities in the coming months."
