The £13m project will replace one of the three subsea cables which supplies electricity to the Isle of Wight.
Completed in November 2013, the first phase involved installation of 930m horizontal directional drill from Thorness Bay on the Isle of Wight out into the sea bed of the Solent.
The second phase, which was completed in June 2014, included installation of a single length of bespoke cable between the coast of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The third and final phase comprised the connection of the new cable onto SEPD’s 132kV network at Thorness Bay on the Isle of Wight.
Commenting on the project, Jonathon Humphries on behalf of the joint venture said: "By working together in joint venture with VBMS, we have been able to bring together best practice and to deliver this project on time and within budget."
