Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation has received a US$31M contract from Votorantim Cimentos of Sao Paulo, Brazil, to deliver the complete Pedra do Cavalo hydro power station in the state of Bahia.
The power plant, on the Paraguacu river, will be equipped with two Francis turbines, each generating 82.5MW at a head of 105m, and two generators with an output of 90MVA each. voith-siemens will supply all the mechanical and electrical equipment.
Commissioning is planned between August and October 2004.
