Vitol Group has completed the purchase of the Immingham Combined Heat and Power plant (Immingham CHP), located in North Lincolnshire, UK, from Phillips 66.
This follows Vitol acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Phillips 66 Power Operations, owned by Phillips 66.
The plant, claimed to be one of the largest combined heat and power (cogeneration) plants in Europe, will be renamed VPI Immingham.
The facility with 1,220 MWe capacity, provides steam and electricity to Phillips 66’s Humber Refinery, steam to the nearby Lindsey refinery, and merchant power into the UK market.
