Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received an order for a total of 95.4MW of wind turbines to be supplied to the Havsnas project in Sweden.

The order consists of 45 units of Vestas’s V90 2MW wind turbine and three units of the V90 1.8MW wind turbine. The contract includes supply, installation, commissioning, a supervisory control and data acquisition solution as well as a five-year service contract.

The order has been placed by RES Skandinavien, a wholly owned subsidiary of Renewable Energy Systems. The owners of the project will be HgCapital, a UK-based investor in renewable energy and RES Skandinavien.

Mike O’Neill, commercial director of RES, said: We are pleased to have selected Vestas for supply of the turbines for what will be Sweden’s largest onshore wind farm and a significant project for the RES Group. This continues the strong relationship we have established with Vestas on our projects in Sweden and around the world and we look forward to the start of construction.
