Vestas has won an order from a subsidiary of Ayen Energy to provide wind turbines for the Aksu power plant in the city of Kayseri, Turkey.

Vestas will oversee the supply, installation on-site and commissioning of 36 turbines each with a generating capacity of 2MW.

The order also comprises a VestasOnline Business SCADA system, as well as a seven-year service agreement including the Active Output Management package ‘AOM 4000’.

Delivery of the wind turbines is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2011 and the project is expected to be complete in the fourth quarter of this year.

The facility is expected to produce nearly 205,000MWh of electricity per year, and avoid around 98,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
