Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured an order from China Longyuan Power Group to supply 24 units of the V80-2MW wind turbine which will be installed in Putian County in the Chinese province of Fujian.

The order includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, a Vestas Online SCADA system and a service and maintenance agreement.

Delivery of the turbines is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2011.

Vestas China president Jens Tommerup said that in 2011,Vestas is stepping up its efforts to deliver more sophisticated service solutions in China.

Longyuan and Vestas have been working together since 2005 and the joint efforts have resulted in more than 500MW of wind energy projects to date.
