Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured an order from a subsidiary of Ayen Energy to supply turbines for the Aksu wind energy project in the city of Kayseri, Turkey.

The company will supply, install on-site and commission 36 turbines each with a generating capacity of 2MW.

The order also comprises a VestasOnline Business SCADA system, as well as a seven-year service agreement including the Active Output Management package ‘AOM 4000’.

Delivery of the turbines will begin in the second quarter of 2011 and the power project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.

The wind farm is expected to produce about 205,000MWh of electricity per year and avoid around 98,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
