Under the contract, Vestas will supply 22 V117-3.3 MW turbines featuring the Vestas De-icing system, which is designed to ensure efficient operation even during ice build-up environment.

The contract scope also involves a 15-year active output management (AOM 5000) service.

Vestas is scheduled to commence deliveries of turbines during the second quarter of 2016, while the power plant is planned to be commissioned during the fourth quarter same year.

WPD turbine procurement head Lars Müller said: "We have already cooperated well with Vestas on many projects, and we look forward to a successful implementation of the Tohkoja wind farm as well."

Separately, Vestas has also secured a contract from Windpark Kirchberg to deliver eight V126-3.3MW turbines for the 26.4MW Kirchberg/Jagst wind farm, planned to be developed in Hohenlohe region in northeast Baden Wurttemberg.

The deal also includes a 15-year full-scope Active Output Management (AOM 4000) service agreement and a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution.
