Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured 99MW wind turbine supply contract from Rabbalshede Kraft for two wind power projects in Sweden.

As per the agreed terms, the company will supply 33 units of V112-3.0 MW turbines, which will be installed at Årjäng and Skaveröd wind projects.

The deal includes supply, installation, and commissioning of the wind turbine, along with an eight-year Active Management Output 5000 service agreement, and the Vestas Optical Collision Avoidance System solution.

Commenting on the deal, Vestas Northern Europe president Klaus Steen Mortensen said that the supply order bolsters the company’s position in the Swedish wind power sector.

Rabbalshede Kraft CEO Thomas Linnard said, "We have today commenced the execution of our wind parks in Årjäng and Skaveröd where we have chosen Vestas as the wind turbine supplier.

"It is with great confidence and expectations we are now entering into this long-term strategic partnership where we can utilize this deal to further enhance our joint future opportunities," added Linnard.

The installation of the turbines will commence in the second quarter of 2014.
