Mr Schlicht comes to VeraSun from US BioEnergy where he held a similar role. While at US BioEnergy, Mr Schlicht was responsible for establishing a corporate legal department, adopting corporate governance practices and completing the company’s initial public offering of common stock.
Mr Schlicht also managed the legal process for plant acquisitions, in addition to overseeing major project financings to fund construction of new ethanol plants. Mr Schlicht also managed US BioEnergy’s corporate environmental, health and safety program, a responsibility he will continue to handle at VeraSun.
