Organic growth amounted to 6.7%. This growth includes the negative impact on the energy division’s revenue, estimated at E164 million, linked to the very mild weather in Europe in the first half of the year. However, Veolia said that despite this, revenue in its energy division grew 7.5% in the first nine months of 2007.
Revenue generated outside France was E12.95 billion, or 55.5% of total revenue, compared to 52.6% at September 30, 2006. The impact of movements in exchange rates mainly reflects the depreciation of the US dollar versus the euro (a decrease of E158 million).
Consolidated operating income increased 12.7% to E1.76 billion, compared to E1.56 billion for the first nine months of 2006. Net debt totaled E14.1 billion at September 30, 2007, compared to E15.2 billion at June 30, 2007.
