The company will deploy its supervisory control and data acquisition/distribution management system (SCADA/DMS) which will enable real-time network monitoring and control of electric power operations owned by Eskom.

Ventyx, in addition will also deploy its equipment reliability system at its Eskom’s Koeberg nuclear power station located in South Africa.

Ventyx sales director Africa Johan Engelbrecht said the new contract is an expansion of the company presence within Eskom and in the electrical utility market in Africa.

"With an increasingly urban population, demand for electricity in Africa is rising fast, increasing pressure on utilities to maximize the availability and efficiency of their networks," said Engelbrecht.

"Ventyx network management and equipment reliability solutions help utilities reduce operating and maintenance costs while improving reliability of service."

Eskom generates and distributes electricity to industrial, mining, commercial, agricultural and residential customers and redistributors in Africa.
