Mr McCarthy will sit on the executive team, and report to group CEO, Simon Mackenzie. Mr McCarthy will be responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategy, as well as maintaining Vector’s commercial and customer relationships. He will take up his appointment in January 2009.
Mr Knight has worked with Vector and predecessors, NGC and AGL in Australia and New Zealand, for over 10 years. Mr Knight will have a continuing relationship with Vector on a part time basis for a few months to work through some specific opportunities.
Mr Mackenzie said: I am very pleased to welcome Daniel to Vector. His appointment completes the executive team, and further increases our bench strength to lead the company through its next phase.
Andy has been a significant contributor to the organization and its predecessors and recently has led the gas business and the metering businesses through a period of considerable change.
