Global oil and gas handling solutions provider Valerus has completed engineering, fabrication, construction and commissioning of a cryogenic gas processing facility in Yopal, Colombia for Casanare-based power generation company Termoyopal.

Completed in late June 2013, the facility can process 40 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d) and extract NGLs from the gas stream, which will help Termoyopal improve fuel quality for its nearby power plant.

In 2011, Valerus secured turnkey construction contract, under which it designed unique solutions, including a smaller footprint to accommodate the mountainous location, and modular, skid mounted equipment that reduced delivery and installation time.

Termoyopal general manager Olga Beatriz Callejas said, "The completion of the Termoyopal cryogenic facility has allowed us to increase efficiency and the overall bottom line of our operations."

"Valerus has been a reliable partner in the design and delivery of the facility," Callejas added.

Valerus CEO Pete Lane said, "Our ability to deliver fully-integrated gas handling and processing solutions helps customers like Termoyopal ensure speed to market, field economics, and safe and reliable operations."
