The Neal Hot Springs Geothermal plant, which is situated near Vale, Oregon, is being operated by USG Oregon, a subsidiary of U.S. Geothermal.
Enbridge has acquired an equity position in the project, which attained final completion on 1 August 2013, while part of the construction costs of the project has been guaranteed by US department of Energy (DOE).
U.S. Geothermal said that the total investment in the development and construction of the project by the company was $14m.
U.S. Geothermal CEO Dennis Gilles said the strategic partnership with Enbridge has proved beneficial for both parties, allowing for the successful construction and operation of the Neal Hot Springs geothermal project.
"We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Enbridge on this and potentially other geothermal projects in our portfolio of quality geothermal resources," Gilles added.
