The STAR program enlists voluntary partnership with oil and natural gas companies and encourages adoption cost-effective technologies and practices to improve operational efficiency and reduce methane emissions.
The scope of the five year contract will include ICF supporting EPA’s Gas STAR, Natural Gas STAR International and Global Methane Initiatives.
ICF will work on domestic and policy support, strategy support for country and regional action plans, planning and execution of technology transfer workshops, and project identification and feasibility assessments.
ICF International senior vice president said Joel Bluestein, "The programs are a great example of the effectiveness of public-private partnerships, both domestically and internationally, in identifying and implementing measures to cost-effectively reduce greenhouse gases."
The company has had a 20-year ongoing collaboration with EPA, which will be further extended with the said contract.
