Under the agreement, the two firms will provide an new energy efficiency solution to enable significant operational cost savings for power plants by burning less coal and generating less air pollution and coal combustion residual (CCR) wastes.

URS will integrate its SBS InjectionÔ sorbent injection technology for sulfur trioxide (SO3) control with the air preheater technology of LJUNGSTRÖM in order to improve the thermal performance and efficiency of a coal-fired power plant.
