Uranium Resources has been granted a permit by the Surface Mining and Reclamation Division of the Railroad Commission of Texas to conduct exploratory drilling on 54,847 acres in Kenedy County in the US state of Texas, known as the Los Finados Project.

The company has also signed an exploration deal with Cameco Texas, a subsidiary of Power Resources, for a three-phase, three-year exploration program.

Uranium Resources said it will drill in accordance with the requirements of the permit, which is effective for one year.

Uranium Resources president and CEO Don Ewigleben said that having completed the joint venture agreement with Cameco and obtaining this permit, the company expects to commence drilling this summer.
