Said to be the largest-of-its-kind solar power plants transaction, the acquisition includes 17 projects located in Xinjiang, Hebei, Yunnan, Shanxi, Jiangsu, and other areas.
Two of the power projects in Yunnan have installed capacities of 172.5MW and 115MW, respectively.
The acquisition increases United PV’s installed capacity to 1,712MW, compared to 572MW in 2014.
United PV chief executive officer Alan LI said: "The acquisition largely raised United PV’s installed capacity and electricity tariff income."
Since the beginning this year, the company has provided approximately HK$2.7bn in convertible bonds to China Orient Asset Management, Fosun International, Chinastone, China Merchants Fund, China Huarong and BC Capital, to fund solar power plants.
The acquisition of Hareon Solar assets comes after United PV acquired 210MW solar plants in Inner Mongolia and Zhejiang Province, China from Guodian earlier this week.
