The project spread over 1,100 acres is expected to be completed in 2013.

Unirac’s ground mount system has been custom-engineered for the Catalina project combining its ISYS ground mount 2.0 version with custom racking, optimizing the total installed cost.

Commenting on the contract Unirac senior director for commercial and utility group Tony Borck expressed confidence in his team to deliver the system in the timeframe specified by the customer.

"Close collaboration with our customers, superior engineering, and a commitment to execution allow us to reduce the total installed cost of utility projects," said Borck.

According to the company, the project is expected to be one of the largest in ground mount PV installations in North America and will cater to the energy needs of approximately 35,000 homes.
