UK Identifies 11 Possible Sites For New Nuclear Power Plants

The appropriate sites announced by the Department of Energy and Climate Change are:

Hartlepool in north east England, nominated by EDF Energy plc;

Heysham in north west England, nominated by EDF Energy plc;

Dungeness on the south coast of England, nominated by EDF Energy plc;

Sellafield in north west England nominated by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA);

Kirksanton in Cumbria, north west England, nominated by RWE AG;

Braystones in Cumbria, nominated by RWE AG;

Wylfa Peninsula in Wales, nominated by the NDA and RWE AG;

Oldbury in south west England nominated, by NDA and EON AG;

Hinkley Point in south west England, nominated by EDF Energy plc;

Bradwell, south east England, nominated by the NDA and

Sizewell in Cumbria, nominated by EDF Energy plc.
