The government of Uganda has pledged US$100M to build another hydroelectric power plant in the country, reports allafrica.com.

Speaking at the opening of the 4th eastern regional trade fair, President Yoweri Museveni said that the government welcomes co-investors, but would supply the entire amount itself if necessary.

The plant would ease Uganda’s power shortage of about 110MW during the evening peak demand time and roughly 25MW during the day.
