Lanong said that the government would also ensure that the UCIL adopts safe mining practices.
According to Lanong, the laboratory would also monitor parameters like dust and noise level having a bearing on the health of the persons.
On behalf of carrying out a key health assessment, Lanong said that the laboratory would questions relating to industrial safety.
Lanong said the treatment of the entire mine water in effluent treatment plant will be carried out before its re-use in the operational cycle.
The other measures includes complete neutralization of mill tailings before discharging the solids in tailings pond and strict adherence to the regulatory guidelines stipulated by Pollution Control Board and other regulatory agencies, Lanong said.
Additionally, Lanong said the technical and biological reclaimation of the mining-affected areas would be undertaken to maintain the original topography of the terrain.
”We will also ensure regular monitoring of air and water samples in the Uranium mining sites,” Lanong said.
