A TXU subsidiary has concluded a 15-year power purchase contract Dublin-based wind project developers Airtricity for 125 MW of wind capacity.

Airtricity will supply the energy from its Forest Creek wind farm, under construction about 40km southeast of Big Spring in West Texas. The project, which uses 2.3 MW Siemens turbines, is scheduled to come on-line by the end of 2006.

Last year, Airtricity announced plans to spend $1.5 billion in the US market and recently named Pat Wood, former FERC chairman, as chairman of the company.
