Alstom has won a deal for the turnkey construction of two 400 MW gas-fired GT26 combined cycle power plants in Spain and an associated long-term service and maintenance agreement.

One unit will be built at Castejon, Navarra, the other unit will be built at Soto de Ribera, Asturias.

Alstom is to provide the engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the plants, along with long-term operation-supervision and maintenance services, under the terms of the deal with Hc energia, a subsidiary of the EDP–Energias de Portugal group, has chosen.

The contract, worth more than €450 million is expected to be signed before the end of the month.
