Gilkes has delivered a 250kW hydro turbine to Kerry County Council in a contract worth £500,000.
The company supplied, designed and manufactured the hydro turbine, generator, control panel and power units for an installation at Lough Guitane, near Killarney, Eire.
The Gilkes Turgo turbine receives water via an existing old pipeline to power a pumping station, which provides drinking water to the Central Regional Water Supply Scheme from Lough Guitane.
